The wait is nearly over football fans! Having been made to wait three weeks since France lifted the 2018 World Cup, the Football League returns on Friday.
The return of betting goes hand in hand with the football and we certainly can’t wait to be let down by a 95th minute penalty miss!
For the campaign we have selected a tip from five leagues for the 2018/19 season that look good and the five fold pays around 11/1.
Cardiff City to be relegated: 8/11 with Bet Victor
Neil Warnock performed miracles last term to get Cardiff City back into the Premier League; however we can’t see their stay being a long one.
Warnock is the master of the Championship, but his record at the top level isn’t great and they are favourites for relegation.
Defensively Cardiff are decent, but they have a lack of goals in the team and there are question marks as to whether Kenneth Zohore can do it at this level.
Relegation rivals have spent heavy and we just can’t see Cardiff having enough to remain in the division.
Stoke City top six finish: 8/13 with Paddy Power
Stoke City’s 10 year stay in the Premier League came to an end last year, however they are one of the favourites to make an immediate return.
Gary Rowett has been appointed manager of the club and he has managed to keep ahold of numerous players, including Jack Butland, Ryan Shawcross and Joe Allen.
Stoke have added the likes of Oghenekaro Etebo and Benik Afobe and should easily secure at least a top six finish next term.
We fancy them for promotion, however have played it safe with the top six prediction.
Atletico Madrid, without Barcelona & Real Madrid: 4/7 with Bet 365
Atletico Madrid have arguably had the best transfer window of any club in Europe and are certainly in the mix for the La Liga title.
Antoine Griezmann’s new deal was massive for the club and they have also added the likes of Gelson Martins, Rodri and Thomas Lemar.
Diego Simeone is pound for pound the best manager in the world, whilst there is no sign either Jan Oblak or Saul will leave the club.
A top two finish wouldn’t be a surprise given the turnover at Real Madrid and lack of depth at Barcelona; however our bet is for them to be best of the rest without the big two!
Monaco top three finish: 5/6 with Betfair
Unsurprisingly there has been a huge turnover of players again at Monaco this summer, with the likes of Lemar, Fabinho and Joao Moutinho departing the club.
They have managed to keep the most important man at the club though, manager Leonardo Jarim!
Mass exodus isn’t out of the ordinary for the club and they lost more players ahead of the 17-18 campaign and still finished in the top three.
Monaco beat Chelsea to the signing of Alexander Golovin and the likes of Djibril Sidibe and Youri Tielemans will only get better.
Juventus to win Serie A: 8/13 with Sky Bet
Will Juventus will an eighth consecutive league title? Almost certainly!
The biggest shock of the transfer window saw them convince Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid and join the Italian champions.
Whilst he may no longer be in the peak of his powers, the Ballon d’Or holder is still world-class and has lifted four Champions League titles in five years.
Their dominance in Italy was tested last season by Napoli, however you feel they missed their chance at lifting the Scudetto.
Juventus aren’t finished in the transfer window and look set to re-sign Leonardo Bonucci and we simply can’t look past the Old Lady again.
