Chelsea vs. Liverpool has thrown a spanner in a lot of FPL teams this week, with most sides having around four players involved in the fixture.
Both teams have earned us excellent points so far this campaign; however the game is a tough one to call and any scoreline is possible.
Selected below a strong team for Gameweek 7, which should score well and still has £0.3m left of a £100m budget.
Ederson (£5.7m): Brighton (H)
Pep Guardiola’s consistent rotation means there is always an element of risk with Manchester City selections; however one certainty is that Ederson will start in goal.
With the Brazilian you know you won’t be getting many save points. Incredibly Ederson has earned more points from assists (3 points) than saves (2 points) this season!
City have kept three clean sheets this campaign though and are yet to concede more than one in a game. Home fixture to Brighton makes Ederson a safe choice.
Matt Doherty (£4.4m): Southampton (H)
Matt Doherty made a slow start to the season, scoring an own goal in a 2-0 loss to Leicester in GW2; however has 20 points in his last three games.
Wolves have conceded just two goals in their last four matches, despite facing both of the Manchester sides in this run and they are starting to find their feet in the Premier League.
With Wolves deploying a 3-4-3 formation, Doherty is effectively a right midfielder and in Wolves last home game, he probably should have earned more than the 12 points he did.
There are rumours claiming he missed the mid-week EFL Cup tie due to an injury. If these prove to be the case, team-mate Jonny Castro (£4.4m) is an easy replacement.
Wolves to nil: 2/1 with Bet Victor
James Tarkowski (£5.0m): Cardiff (A)
Defensively Burnley have been poor this season; however managed to keep just their second clean sheet of the season last time out at home to Bournemouth.
A trip to Cardiff represents a good chance for a consecutive shut outs and in James Tarkowski they alos have a threat in the opposite box.
The England defender has two goals already this season and despite Burnley’s slow start to the season, only seven defenders have more points.
Kieran Trippier (£6.1m): Huddersfield (A)
The news that Christian Eriksen & Serge Aurier (almost certainly) will miss the Huddersfield fixture was music to the ears of Kieran Trippier owners.
Trippier is a rotation risk, however will start given Aurier’s absence and should take more set pieces with Eriksen ruled out of the fixture.
The right-back already has two double digit hauls this campaign and you wouldn’t rule him out of a third here.
Leroy Sane (£9.2m): Brighton (H)
Leroy Sane appears to have played his way back into Guardiola’s good books since the recent international break and is a strong candidate to start here.
His price may have dropped following an early season exodus, but he has recorded 15 points over the last two fixtures and was preserved in the EFL mid-week fixture vs. Oxford.
Brighton do not travel well and a City romp appears on the cards. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, then Bernando Silva (£7.5m) is one to consider as well.
Richarlison (£6.6m): Fulham (H)
Richarlison has proven to be quite the enigma this season. Three goals in his first two league matches saw FPL managers bring him into their side, only for the Brazilian to be sent off away at Bournemouth!
For those that kept him in their squad, they will be rewarded with a home fixture against Fulham on Saturday.
Fulham are awful defensively and have already shipped 11 goals. Encouragingly for FPL managers, Richarlison led the line in Everton’s away fixture against Arsenal in GW6 and he could be in for a good haul here.
Everton & Over 2.5 goals: 29/20 with Coral
Aaron Ramsey (£7.4m): Watford (H)
Whilst his future at the Emirates is very much unclear, Aaron Ramsey could prove to be a good addition to your FPL team this weekend.
Ramsey is given the most freedom in a midfield trio under Unai Emery and returned two assists in GW6 as Arsenal beat Everton.
Watford have started the season well, however haven’t kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season. Owned by less than 1.5% of FPL managers, Ramsey could well be an excellent differential pick.
James Maddison (£6.8m): Newcastle (A)
Have to admit I am reluctant to pick the player myself; however James Maddison’s form (even if at times he has been lucky) is worth recognition.
The former Norwich City man has scored an impressive 34 points already this season, a record only four midfielders can better.
Newcastle away isn’t the easiest of fixtures, but Leicester are a team who can score goals and with Maddison on free-kicks, he looks a good bet at less than £7m.
Raul Jimenez (£5.5m): Southampton (H)
I’m not a fan of doubling down on players from a side not in the top six; but Wolves this season could well be an exception.
Raul Jimenez has two goals in his first six league matches; however is a very good pick for the third centre forward in your team given his very low price.
Southampton have made an average start to the season and given how well Wolves have adapted to life in the top flight, Jimenez has to be in FPL managers thoughts.
Harry Kane (£12.4m): Huddersfield (A)
Does he look off the pace? Yes! Is £12.4m too much given his form? Probably! But I can’t ignore the England captain here.
Huddersfield and Cardiff are awful and both will be relegated this season. Tottenham face the pair in their next two games and Harry Kane’s season could really get up and running here.
Rested completely in the mid-week EFL Cup tie, now is the time to consider getting Kane into your team.
Sergio Aguero (£11.4m): Brighton (H)(Captain)
A 20 point haul at home to Huddersfield aside, Sergio Aguero has made a frustrating start to the season for FPL Owners.
Only twice has he completed 90 minutes and was withdrawn in the 53rd and 60th minute respectively in City’s last two fixtures. There is a good chance he will be substituted around a similar mark this week, with City having a must win Champions League tie in Germany on Tuesday.
Despite that – you’d can’t ignore Kun! Rested completely in the EFL Cup, he will start here and at least a brace inside of 70 minutes looks a good bet.
Sergio Aguero to score 2 or more goals: 13/8 with Bet 365
