After 100 long days, the Premier League is back on Wednesday evening and along with that returns FPL!
There were a few doubts about how the game would return given the lengthy break; however it’s confirmed there will be unlimited transfers ahead of GW30+
This gameweek looks likely to be the only double for the remainder of the 19-20 campaign and most players will likely use a chip (if they have any) to bolster their chances of a high score.
Personally we are torn between triple captaining a Manchester City asset or filling out that bench boost!
Triple City required
Despite the “Pep roulette”, having three Manchester City assets for GW30+ is an absolute must.
Defensively they haven’t been great this season; however either Ederson (£6.0m) or the fit again Aymeric Laporte (£6.3m) look good options.
Kevin de Bruyne (£10.6m) will likely be in 90% of active manager teams and realistically he is a must have.
For the final spot, if you can afford Sergio Aguero (£11.8), he looks the best pick given his goal scoring record against the Gunners.
The 2020 form of Raheem Sterling (£11.7m) means he is an avoid, whilst the likes of Bernando Silva (£7.7m) and Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) are likely to only start one of the double game week.
Sheffield United defence
Chris Wilder has performed miracles with his home town club since being named manager back in 2016 and with just a quarter of the season remaining, they still have European ambitions.
The Blades have the second best defensive record in the Premier League, conceding just 25 goals in 28 matches. Despite their double being two away fixtures, at least one Sheffield United defender is a must.
Out of position John Lundstrum (£4.9m) remains the best pick having regained his spot in the XI prior to the leagues break.
Sheffield United’s top six point scorers are defensive options and the full-back pairing of George Baldock (£5.1m) and Enda Stevens (£5.2m) are also good shouts.
Villa and Arsenal double options
Arsenal travel to face Manchester City in the first of their double game week which is followed up by another trip on the road to Brighton.
There has been undoubted improvements since the appointment of Mikel Arteta and the remain the only side unbeaten in the Premier League in 2020.
However there isn’t a great deal of FPL options, with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (£11.1m) the only viable option.
As for the fourth double game week side, Jack Grealish (£6.4m) aside, I’d avoid out of form Aston Villa assets.
