RB Leipzig need a victory away at FC Koln on Monday evening if they are to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Sebastiaan Bornauw was sent off early on in mid-week and that cost Koln dearly in a 3-1 defeat at Hoffenheim.
Christoph Baumgartner scored twice in the victory, leaving Koln in the middle of the Bundesliga.
A late Krzysztof Piatek penalty earned Hertha Berlin a point away at RB Leipzig on Wednesday evening.
Patrik Schick’s second half goal looked to have secured Leipzig all three points; however the result leaves them nine points adrift of top spot.
