Chelsea vs. Arsenal: Premier League – Match Preview

Chelsea suffered a first defeat under Graham Potter when they were thrashed by his former employers Brighton 4-1 last weekend.

Chelsea edged past Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 in their final Champions League group game, however top spot was already assured going into the fixture.

Arsenal secured top spot in their Europa League group with a 1-0 win over FC Zurich thanks to a Kieran Tierney goal.

Arsenal eased to a 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest last time out, with substitute Reiss Nelson scoring twice.

Team news
Ben Chilwell sustained a hamstring injury in the win over Zagreb and is out here and probably misses the World Cup.

Chelsea didn’t make a lot of changes for the Zagreb win, however expect Thiago Silva to return to the XI.

Takehiro Tomiyasu was forced off in the Europa League meaning Oleksandr Zinchenko could well be rushed back into the side.

Bukayo Saka eased any injury fears with a cameo midweek and he will return to the XI here.

Expected starting XI’s
Chelsea (3-4-3): Mendy; Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly; Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho, Cucurella; Sterling, Aubameyang, Mount

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale; White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Jesus
