Team news
Both of Spurs deadline day signings are unlikely to be involved here, however fellow summer addition Tanguy Ndombele will start.
Juan Foyth and Heung Min Son carry suspensions over from last season and will miss out. Danny Rose and Christian Eriksen were heavily linked with moves away from the club, so it will be interesting to see if both feature.
Three of Villa’s back four are likely to be new signings, with Heaton also set to debut in goal.
Captain Jack Grealish remains Villa’s best player and he will start in midfield alongside Niall McGinn who signed a new deal this week.
