Manchester United vs. Tottenham: Premier League – Match Preview

Manchester United entertain Tottenham on Sunday in the stand out fixture of the Premier League weekend.

Manchester United recorded their first league win of the season last weekend as they recorded a late and controversial win away at Brighton.

Solly March had equalised in the 90th minute for Brighton; however United were awarded a very late penalty, which Bruno Fernandes converted.

Tottenham were on the wrong end of a controversial penalty call, conceding a last minute equaliser at home to Newcastle United.

Lucas Moura gave them a first half lead in a game they dominated through out; however they failed to kill the game off and Callum Wilson earned Newcastle a point.

Match history
Manchester United took four points off Spurs last year and recorded a 2-1 win in the meeting last year.

Marcus Rashford scored twice for United in the win, inflicting Jose Mourinho’s first defeat as Tottenham boss.

Team news
Eric Bailly could come into the XI for Victor Lindelof following a good run of form in the EFL Cup.

This will likely be the only change from the side that beat Brighton, meaning Donny van de Beek will likely remain on the bench.

Heung Min Son is a major doubt for Spurs; however Mourinho refused to rule him out.

His probable absence will likely see Tottenham shift to a 3-5-2 with new signing Sergio Reguilon making a first Premier League start.

Expected starting XI’s
Manchester United (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Pogba, Matic; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
Tottenham (3-5-2): Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Alderweireld; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Winks, Celso, Reguilon; Kane, Moura
